Extracurricular clubs are returning to MRCA!
MRCA is excited to offer the following extracurricular clubs after school dismissal on campus starting the week of September 16th, 2024. Clubs are open to MRCA students. Click on the links below to register. After registering, you will be sent further details regarding student pick-up locations, but note that students attending a club will be escorted to the appropriate classroom after car line.
ThinkMove Chess Academy
Chess can help develop analytical and decision-making skills that can be applied in life. Learning the game of chess enhances both the ability to recognize patterns and logical deductive reasoning which helps in problem-solving. Studies show a positive relationship between chess and stronger math and reading skills.
Students in this class will learn the fundamental rules, strategies, and tactics to play a legal (and fun!) chess game. The class will be led by ThinkMove Chess employees (with an MRCA employee present) and split into a lesson, solving puzzles, and playing chess with peers.
- Meets at MRCA every Tuesday from 3:30-4:30 pm for 12 weeks (no class November 26th)
- Open to 1st-8th grade MRCA students
- $180 per student

Thursday Craft Club
This club invites young creators to explore their artistic talents and bring their ideas to life over a fun 12-week program. Each week, participants will dive into a new craft project, ranging from painting to jewelry making and upcycling, ensuring a diverse and enriching experience. Students will have the freedom to create through various mediums, encouraging individuality and personal style in their art.
Our projects will help develop fine motor skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and boost confidence as children see their ideas come to fruition. Each session will revolve around a specific theme, such as nature crafts, holiday decorations, or recycled art. Crafting is a wonderful way to relax and unwind, providing a positive outlet for self-expression. Join us in DIY/Craft Club, where every week is an adventure in creativity!
- Meets at MRCA every Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm for 12 weeks

- Maximum of 15 students
