What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
John 10:10 reminds me that Satan only takes away, but Jesus gives – love, salvation, life, and joy.
Where did you grow up, and where have you lived?
I was born in Greenville. I moved to Macon, GA, when I was 2 1/2, grew up there, and lived there off and on for the next 30 years. Also, I lived in Spartanburg; Avignon, France; and Columbia, SC. I’ve been back in Greenville for 20 years.
What do you love about serving at MRCA?
This biblical worldview education is SO important, and our teachers are SO talented and dedicated! I’m happy I don’t have to teach, but so happy I can help and support them by making sure everyone has lunch.
Besides Jesus, who is the person you would most want to meet?
My grandfather, Papa James, who died when my mother was only 17. I’ve always heard such wonderful things about him and would love to know him and hear his life experiences.
What are your hobbies?
Cooking, reading fiction, walking/hiking, watching Clemson football
What was the best vacation you ever took and why?
My family is in 100% agreement that our two best vacations were in a cabin with our best friends on a lake in Minnesota. We were disconnected from the outside world (no TV, radio, or cell service), so we enjoyed each other and the great outdoors.
What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
With family – hiking in the mountains or playing at Lake Greenwood
Which Bible story has grown your faith the most?
Job – I’m amazed and humbled by his faith. If he, in all his trials, can praise God, then surely I can, too.
