What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Isaiah 41:10. What an encouragement it is to know that you don’t do life on your own strength. That God will lift you up with his RIGHTEOUS right hand.
Where did you grow up, and where have you lived?
I was born in Durham, NC (Go DUKE!) and then moved when I was three to Winston Salem, NC. When I was nine, my family made a big move to Nashville, TN. We had a great time there, with fantastic opportunities like singing in a recording studio on Music Row! Then at 13, my Dad’s job brought us to Greenville, SC. I went to SCS and graduated from there. I went back to Nashville for college and attended Trevecca Nazarene University. I came back and married my high school sweetheart, and now we reside in Greer.
What do you love about serving at MRCA?
MRCA is like one big family. It’s not as much a business, but a ministry. I think it really allows us to put the kid’s needs first.
Besides Jesus, who is the person you would most want to meet?
It’s a tie. Either George W. Bush or Coach K. I just love them both and would actually lose my mind if I had the opportunity to meet them.
What are your hobbies?
In the summer, I love going to Lake Keowee with my family and water skiing. In the fall I love going to Clemson football with my husband. If I’m not doing one of those things, you can find me curled up with a book or watching Fixer Upper!
What was the best vacation you ever took and why?
For our one-year anniversary, my husband and I went to Disney World (yes, we are one of those couples). We had the best time just running around and being kids together. We laughed uncontrollably and ate everything we could!
What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
With my husband. I could care less what we are doing. As long as he is there, I’m a happy girl. Especially if there is a breakfast date involved!
Which Bible story has grown your faith the most?
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were faced with the ultimate testing of their faith. What a testimony to face the fire and have a faith that exceeds fear.
