What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Hebrews 12:1-2
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

God has used these verses to remind me that He is the only one worth chasing with all my heart. I use this verse to remind myself that God has given me a goal here on this earth, and I need run after that goal.

Where did you grow up, and where have you lived?
I grew up in Houston, Texas, with my parents and my five younger brothers. I moved to Greenville in 2014 after graduating from college.

What do you love about serving at MRCA?
My favorite part about teaching at MRCA is the freedom to teach God’s word openly in the classroom. I love working with other teachers who care not just about a student’s academic growth, but about their spiritual growth as well.

Besides Jesus, who is the person you would most want to meet?
I have always wanted to meet Johannes Kepler, the 16th century astronomer who discovered the Laws of Planetary Motion. He based all his research on the assumption that God put order in the universe, and we can identify that order because we are made in God’s image.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading, working on home projects, and spending time outdoors.

What was the best vacation you ever took and why?
Several years ago my whole family took a trip to Yellowstone National Park. Seeing the awe-inspiring beauty God put in nature always reminds me of his magnificence.

What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
My favorite way to spend a weekend is to sleep in, then spend the morning reading. Afterwards I love finding an errand to run with my wife, or a project to complete at the house.

Which Bible story has grown your faith the most?
My favorite Bible story is the description of Jesus’ response to Peter after Jesus has rose from the grave. This story reminds me that even though I am broken, He still chooses to use me for his plan. It reminds me that God’s strength is far stronger than my weakness.
