What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
One of my favorite passages in the bible is Psalm 73:25-26. I love it because it reminds me that our only steadfast hope and strength in life comes from God. Everything and everyone else on this earth will in some way disappoint and maybe even abandon us, but God’s faithfulness will never leave us and will always provide what we need. I find such comfort and reassurance in that.

Where did you grow up, and where have you lived?
I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina, for college and then moved to Greenville, SC, and have been here ever since.

What do you love about serving at MRCA?
I truly enjoy having connections with our new and existing MRCA families. The community our families have created is so valuable and I’m blessed to be a part of it. I also adore being around our students on a daily basis. They bring such excitement and fun to our campus!

Besides Jesus, who is the person you would most want to meet?
Oh, man – I can’t choose just one! I’d love to meet Harriet Tubman (who helped many slaves escape to freedom through the Underground Railroad), Moses (I’d love to hear about the Red Sea, his rod turning into a snake, the burning bush, and how nervous he was approaching Pharaoh), Mary, the mother of Jesus (what in the world was going through her mind during her pregnancy and what kind of child was Jesus), Corrie Ten Boom (a woman who helped hide Jews from the Nazis in Amsterdam and was eventually sent to a concentration camp). I can’t choose – how about a dinner party with all of these people invited?!

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading, photography, tennis, hiking, traveling, and cooking (when I have the time).

What was the best vacation you ever took and why?
t’s so hard to choose just one because one of my favorite pastimes is traveling. My top four trips (in no particular order) would be going to NYC with some best girlfriends, visiting Disney World with my husband and children, going on safari in South Africa with my family, and honeymooning in Bermuda with my husband. I love experiencing different places, meeting different types of people, and seeing the beauty of the world around us.

What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
A great weekend for me would be to sleep in a little on Saturday morning, go hiking with my family for the day, eat a really good pizza dinner, and finish the evening reading next to a fire. We’d go to church on Sunday, have lunch with friends, and play a little tennis in the afternoon (all in cool – but not freezing – weather).

Which Bible story has grown your faith the most?
I think the account of the Israelites’ beginnings and rise, their disobedience, time in exile, and their journey to the land God promised them really resonates with me. They were so unfaithful and yet God remained faithful. Their story isn’t without difficulties and discipline, but it was all meant to bring the Israelites closer to God; I pray that I am able to see every season of my life as an opportunity to grow closer to the Lord and to give Him the glory in all things.
